Engineering Manager In Chennai

Position Type: Full-time

Experience: 10 – 20yrs

• Oversee engineering cost reduction initiatives
• Product simplification and rationalization activities
• Materials optimization including parts count reduction
• Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
• Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget rquests
• Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
• Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Valeu Engineering department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations, and develops recommendations accordingly
• Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

• Minimum Education Level: Required Degree: BE in Mechanical Engineering or 10 to 20 years experience in Value (or related) industry with 2-5 years experience with applied value engineering experience. PS Desired.
• Experienced in MS Office, Engieering Design and Analysis Software
