The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, henceforth mentioned as KVS, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, invite ON-LINE applications from the Indian Nationals for recruitment to the post of Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for the year – 2011-12.

Candidates are required to apply ON-LINE through KVS’s website (where complete advertisement & fee payment challans are available). No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted. The schedule of On-line registration is as follows:

3.    AGE RELAXATION

Relaxation in upper age limit will be as under:

a)     No age bar in the case of employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
b)    Up-to a maximum of 5 years in the case of SC/ ST candidates.
c)     Up-to a maximum of 3 years in the case of OBC candidates.
d)    Up-to 5 years for persons who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during 01.01.80 to 31.12.89.
e)     Up-to a maximum of 5 years for Government Servants.
f)     An ex-Servicemen who has put in not less than 06 months continuous service in the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from his actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than 3 years he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.
g)    Up-to a maximum of 10 years in the case of SC/ST and 08 years in case of OBC candidates serving as Government employees in accordance with the Government of India instructions. An applicant claiming age relaxation under this para should produce a certificate from his/her employer to the effect that he/ she is a Government servant as on the date of publication of advertisement in Employment News.
h)     Up-to a maximum of 10 years in the case of Physically Challenged candidates.
i)      Up-to a maximum of 10 years of women candidates

Note:  Except Physically Challenged candidates, all the concessions mentioned above will be concurrent, that is, if a person is eligible for more than one concession, only one of the concessions of the highest permissible limit, will be granted. For Physically Challenged, if a person belongs to SC/ST, he/she will be allowed 15 years, i.e., 10 years for Phyiscally Challenged and 5 years for SC/ST.
                                                                                            
4.    Examination Fee and mode of payment

a)     For applying to the aforesaid posts, candidates are advised to remit 750/- through electronic transfer into Account No.405046333 with the Indian Bank, Mehrauli Institutional Area, New Delhi–110016 (Branch Code: 943).

For remittance of fee through electronic mode, candidates have to visit the nearest branch of the Indian Bank, along with prescribed Challan. The copy of the Challan can be downloaded from KVS’s Website. The candidates have to fill in the Challan and deposit the same in the Bank along with requisite fee in any branch of Indian Bank.

b)    One copy of Challan duly signed and stamped along with Deposit Journal Number should be collected from the bank for filling up necessary details in the application form. The Challan received from the Bank should also be attached with the On-Line Generated Application Form, in original.

In addition to fee, the Indian Bank will charge 30/- as “Service charge” for transferring the fee through electronic mode i.e. the candidates should remit FEE+ 30/- (780/-).

c)     The fee can also be transferred from any Bank other than the Indian Bank.  If fee is transferred through any other Bank other than the Indian Bank, the following particulars are to be provided to the remitting Banker:

e)     However, such candidates will have to collect proforma of Challan/Counter Foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip from the respective Bank, since every bank has a different proforma. The proforma provided by the Bank should be filled in properly and deposited along with fees. The copy of Challan/Counter foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip duly signed and stamped along with Deposit Journal No./ UTR No. should be collected from the Bank for filling up necessary details in the application form. The Challan/Counter foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/Pay-in Slip received from the Bank should be attached with the On Line Generated Application Form in original and sent alongwith other requisite copy of documents/ testimonials.

f)     Candidates are advised to keep photocopy of the above details viz. Challan/Counter foil/Cash Receipt Voucher/ Pay-in Slip with them for reference.

g)    No fee is required to be paid by SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PH/ Women Candidates. 

IMPORTANT: The Sangathan will accept fee through Electronic Transfer only.  The fee sent through Demand Draft/IPO/Money Order/ Crossed Cheque/ Currency note or the Treasury Challans, etc. will not be accepted and all such applications will be treated as having been received without fee and the fees paid through these modes shall not be refunded, under any circumstances .

5.    HOW TO APPLY

a)    Candidates are required to apply On-Line through this website. No other means/ mode of submission of application will be accepted under any circumstances.
                                  
b)    Candidates should have a valid personal e-mail ID. It should be kept active during the currency of this recruitment project. KVS will send provisional admit card for Written Test for Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Interview or any other important communication through the registered e-mail ID.  Further, the candidates are requested to check regularly their e-mail for any communication from KVS. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/mention e-mail ID to/ of any other person.

c)    Before you start filling up the On-line application, make sure the following details/documents are readily available with you :

                i.          A scanned image file (preferably a ‘jpg’ file) of your Passport size photograph and signature. 
               ii.          Applicant’s Counterfoil Copy of the Application Fee Challan, if applicable.
              iii.          Academic qualification as per eligibility criteria.

d)    Applicants are first required to go to this website.

e)    Thereafter, open the Recruitment Notification titled “RECRUITMENT OF POST GRADUATE TEACHERS FOR THE YEAR 2011-12”.

f)     Take a Print of the entire Recruitment Notification, including the ‘FEE PAYMENT CHALLAN’.

g)    Candidate has to fill in the details in the Fee Payment Challan in a clear and legible own handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS.

h)    Go to the nearest Indian Bank Branch with the Fee payment Challan and pay in Cash the appropriate Application Fee/postage in CBS Account No 405046333 in the name & style of “RECRUITMENT OF POST GRADUATE TEACHERS FOR THE YEAR 2011-12 IN KVS”.

i)      Obtain the Applicant’s Counterfoil Copy of the Application Fee Payment Challan duly receipted by the Bank with (i) Bank Name, Branch Address & Code Number, (ii) Journal Number, (iii) Date of Deposit & amount filled by the Branch Official.

j)      Candidates are now ready to Apply On-Line by re-visiting the KVS’s website and going to the option “Click here to Apply On-Line” under ” RECRUITMENT OF POST GRADUATE TEACHERS FOR THE YEAR 2011-12 IN KVS”  to open up the appropriate On-Line Application Format.

k)    Carefully fill in the details from the Fee Payment Challan in the On-Line Application Form at the appropriate places.

l)      Fill in all other required information. Ensure that all Bio-data details are correctly filled in.

m)  After applying on-line, the candidate should take a print out of the system generated on-line application form and retain it along with Registration Number & Password safely for future reference.

n)    After print out of the System Generated On-line Application Form, applicants are required to send the following documents:

i.              The System Generated On-line Application Form duly signed, on bottom of each page.

ii.             Those applicants who are unable to upload their photo and signature while filling the online application, they are required to paste 2 recent passport size photograph (size 35 x 45 mm) facing camera out of which one duly attested by a Gazetted Officer and one without attestation in the box provided in the application form and put signatures at the appropriate places on the application form.

iii.            Original counterfoil of the fee Payment Challan, if applicable.
iv.            Photocopies of all the educational qualifications, academic and professional, mark-sheets for all the years, degree/ diploma certificates starting from Senior Secondary/ Intermediate to highest academic/ professional qualification, class X certificate for proof of date of birth, Caste/ Category, sub-category certificates issued by the competent authority, Certificates in claim of CCA, achievements/ distinction in Sports, Literary activities, Scouts & Guides, NCC, NSS etc.,. Form of Undertaking to be furnished by Armed Forces personnel applying for Civil Posts under Ex-Servicemen category, experience certificates etc. duly tagged with application together.

v.             One self addressed and self stamped Post Card by affixing postage stamp worth of 6/-

o)    In case the Computer Generated Application Printout, along with original payment challan/ Certificates, is not received at the designated Post Box, the online registration will not be valid.

p)    All the said document must be sent by ordinary post since applications sent by Regd. Post/ Speed Post/Courier are not accepted at Post Box address by the last date indicated above. The KVS will not be responsible for applications sent at any other address (including KVS office) or sent by hand or otherwise.  Candidates are advised to send the application well in advance to avoid any postal delay, in such a manner that the same reaches before the stipulated date for receipt of application. 

q)    There is provision to modify the submitted on-line application only for 3 times. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in on-line application, if any. However, after the last date, no modification will be permitted.

r)     Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in on-line application.


s)    Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fees to avoid the possibility of disconnection/ inability/failure to log on the KVS’s website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam.

t)     The KVS does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the KVS.

u)    Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.

v)    Candidates serving in Govt/Quasi Govt. offices, Public Sector undertakings are advised to submit their original computer generated application form and original cash deposit receipt in advance and submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their employer at the time of interview, failing which their candidature may not be considered.

w)   Mere issue of Admit Card to the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the KVS. The Sangathan will make preliminary scrutiny of all the applications to determine eligibility of candidate before the Written Tests. However, in case even at the time of preliminary scrutiny, a candidate is allowed to appear at the written examination or even if, called for the interview and such candidate does not fulfill any of the laid down selection criteria, his/her candidature will automatically be treated as cancelled even after giving letter of appointment. Therefore, before submitting the application, the candidate must ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility criteria as laid down in this advertisement. His/ her candidature will be purely provisional subject to eligibility being verified again after the test and/ or interview.

x). The decision of the Sangathan about the mode of selection to the post and eligibility conditions of the applicant shall be final and binding. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

6.    MODE OF SELECTION AND SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

The mode of selection shall include a written examination test/interview as per the following scheme of the examination

                i.              Preliminary Examination : The test will be an objective type multiple choices of answers consisting of 150 questions for a duration of 3 hours and will carry 1 mark each, in 2 parts, as per details mentioned below:
                                
Part – 1:      The Paper will consist of 110 Questions in the disciplines of General Knowledge, General Awareness, Current Affairs, General Science & Indian Constitution, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Teaching Aptitude etc. The medium of the question paper will be both English and Hindi

Part – 2:      The Paper will consist of 40 Questions (20 questions based on English language and 20 questions based on Hindi language) for evaluation of language competence of the candidates which will be of qualifying in nature.  However, the candidate will be expected to obtain 05 marks in English & Hindi separately as well as minimum 13 marks in this paper as a whole in order to qualify the test.

Note:-  For the evaluation purpose there shall be no negative marking. 

                                               
                     ii.        Main Examination : Based on the marks and merit rank secured by a candidate in Part-I of the  Preliminary Examination, up to a cut off percentage as decided by KVS and those candidates who qualify in Part-2 will be called for the Main Examination. This will be of Descriptive Type Paper consisting of 120 marks for duration of 3 hours. The medium of the question paper will be both English and Hindi (except Language papers i.e. English, Hindi).

This examination will consist of long and short answer questions pertaining to subject/posts for which a candidate has applied. The questions may be recall type questions to test the conceptual understanding of the topics. A few questions on drawing interpretations from given raw data and some situational questions may also be asked to test the analytical ability and intelligence of the candidates.

iii       Interview Test : While processing the final result only those candidates will be included who have obtained a pre determined cut off percentage of marks in the Main Examination. Only those candidates will be called for the interviews who have secured merit rank based on the performance (above cut off percentage). 

The candidate will be interviewed by a Board who will have before them a record of his/her career. He/she will be asked questions on matters of general interest and Questions on the subject pertaining to the post applied for. The object of the interview is to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in teaching profession by a Board of competent and unbiased observers. The test is intended to judge the mental caliber and communication skill of a candidate.

Some of the qualities to be judged are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical exposition, and balance of judgment, variety and depth of interest, leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.

The technique of the interview is not that of a strict cross-examination but of a natural, through directed and purposive conversation which is intended to reveal the mental qualities of the candidate.

The interview test is not intended to be a test either of the specialized or general knowledge of the candidates which has been already tested through their written papers. Candidates are expected to have taken an intelligent interest not only in their special subjects of academic study but also in the events which are happening around them both within and outside their own state or country as well as in modern currents of thought and in new discoveries which should arouse the curiosity of well educated youth/informed citizen.
                                                         
The final merit will be based on the combined performance in the written test and interview and the weightage shall be 80:20 respectively.

Note:   The centres for the examinations as mentioned above are subject to change at the discretion of the Sangathan. While every effort will be made to allot the candidate the centre of his/ her choice for the examination, the Sangathan may at its discretion allot a different centre to the candidate in case sufficient candidates do not opt for a particular centre for any post or for any other administrative reason (s). No request for change of examination centre once allotted will be entertained and the candidate will have to appear at the allotted centre at his/ her expenses.

9.    Reasons of Rejection
The following are the broad parameters of rejection of application of a candidate:
a)     Non-receipt of fee (in case of General/OBC candidates) with application in the manner desired.
b)    Non-receipt of any of the documentary proof in the form of attested photocopies of qualification, mark-sheets, other certificate (s) etc.
c)     Non-receipt of caste certificate/ sub-category certificate, wherever applicable.
d)    Not possessing the degree/ desired qualification up-to cut off date.
e)     Not fulfilling any of the laid down eligibility criteria by cut off date.
f)     Incomplete application or application not received on proper format within due date.
                        
10.       LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:
a).  The closing date for ON LINE registration of applications is 30.11.2010.
b).  The last date for receipt of System Generated On-line Application Form alongwith enclosures is on or before 07.12.2010.                  
c).  Applicants are required to send System Generated On-line Application Form through ordinary post only at the following address:

d). The candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep or abroad, the last date for receipt of Application is 14th December, 2010. Candidates who are claiming the benefit of extended time should clearly indicate in the appropriate column of the application form, the area code of the particular area or region where they are residing. In case they fail to do so, the benefit of extended time will not be allowed to them.

11.  CORRESPENDENCE WITH THE KVS

a)     The KVS will not enter into any correspondence with the candidates about their candidature except in the following cases: 

                      i.        Every candidate for this examination will be informed at the earliest possible date of the result of his/her application. Admit Cards, indicating the Roll Nos. will be issued to the candidates who are admitted to the examination. The Admit Card will bear the photograph of the candidate.  If a candidate does not receive his/her Admit Card or any other communication regarding his/her candidature for the examination three weeks before the commencement of the examination, he/she should at once contact the KVS.

On receipt of such a communication, Admit Card or a duplicate copy thereto will be issued to the admitted candidate.  Information in this regard can also be obtained from the concerned Regional Office of KVS one day before the date of examination.

                     ii.        No candidate will ordinarily be allowed to take the examination unless he/she holds an Admit Card for the examination. On the receipt of Admit Card, check it carefully and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to the notice of KVS immediately.

b)    The candidates should note that their admission to the examination will be purely provisional based on the information given by them in the application form. This will be subject to verification of all the eligibility conditions by the KVS.

c)     The mere fact that a certificate of admission to the Examination has been issued to a candidate, will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the KVS.  Candidates may note that the KVS takes up the verification of eligibility conditions of a candidate, with reference to original documents, only after the candidate has qualified for interview. Unless the candidature is formally confirmed by the KVS, it continues to be provisional.

d)    The decision of the KVS as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the Examination shall be final.

e)     Candidates should note that the name in the Admit Card in some cases may be abbreviated due to technical reasons.

f)     In the event of a candidate receiving more than one Admit Card from the KVS, he/she should use only one of these Admit Cards for appearing at the examination and return the other(s) to the KVS Office.

g)    Any change in address should be communicated to the KVS at the earliest. Although the KVS make every effort to take account of such changes, they cannot accept any responsibility in the matter.

h)     If a candidate receives an Admit Card in respect of some other candidate on account of handling error, the same should be immediately returned to the KVS with a request to issue the correct Admit Card.  Candidates may note that they will not be allowed to take the examination on the particulars of an Admit Card issued in respect of another candidate.

12.  GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a)     The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility condition(s).

b)    Mere issue of Admit Card to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the KVS.

c)     Applicants may apply for one or more than one post in accordance with the dates and timings of the examination fixed for the posts at their own risk so that examination for the posts does not clash.

d)    Candidates desirous to apply for more than one post should submit application for each post accompanied by necessary enclosures for each post in separate envelops.

e)     Candidates should note that in case a communication is received from their employer by the KVS withholding permission to the candidates applying for/appearing at the examination, their applications will be liable to be rejected/candidature will be liable to be cancelled.

f)     While filling in his application form, the candidate should carefully decide about his/her choice for the centre and optional subject for the Examination. More than one application from a candidate giving different centers and/ or optional subjects will not be accepted in any case. Even if a candidate sends more than one completed application the KVS will accept only one application at their discretion and decision of the KVS in the matter shall be final.

g)    If any candidate appears at a centre/optional subject other than the one indicated by the KVS in his/her Admit Card, the papers of such a candidate will not be evaluated and his/her candidature will be liable for cancellation.

h)     Since these application forms are to be processed in a computerized system, due care should be taken by the candidates to fill up their application form correctly.  No column of the Application should be left blank. Incomplete or defective application shall be summarily rejected.  No representation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertained under any circumstances.

i)      If any of their claims is found to be incorrect, they may render themselves liable to suitable action by the KVS in terms of the extent rules of the KVS on the subject.

j)      The vacancies advertised may vary. They may decrease or increase.

k)     Qualifications acquired by the candidates should be strictly in accordance with the prescribed qualifications and candidate should not seek claim of equivalence of their qualifications with that of qualifications as asked for. Wherein grades have been given, equivalence marks of gradation should be attached.

l)        The Candidate should not fill in those qualifications in the application form for which they have appeared in any of the examination whose result is awaited/ withheld/ not declared/marks sheet not received till the last date of submission of application.

m)   The blind candidates applying for a post must clearly write/ mark the column of Blind and Physically Challenged to determine their case and eligibility etc.  Such candidates will not be allowed to use the services of their guide/ scribe.  The guide/ scribe will be provided at the centre who will assist such candidates in writing their answer on their behalf, in case the visibility level is such that they cannot write on their own. 

n)      The OBC candidate must produce a certificate in the prescribed pro-forma, as is issued for employment in Central Govt. offices and they should not be from creamy layer.

o)    Candidates serving in any recognized institution/ organization/ autonomous body of Central Government/State Govt. must apply under intimation to his/ her Employer. They will also be required to provide a ‘No Objection Certificate’, if called for Interview.
                                                     
p)    A candidate who does not receive Admit-card for the examination/or any other error in the Admit Card may visit ‘Facilitation Counter’ in the city of examination along with proof of their having applied for the post one day before the scheduled date of exam, between 10 AM to 3 PM along with 2 passport size photographs for issuance of provisional admit card. In respect of those candidates whose applications are not received by Sangathan due to postal delay or otherwise, no action will be taken and no fresh request will be entertained. The list of ‘Facilitation Counters’ will be made available at the KVS’s website, prior to conduct of examination.

q)    Important information relating to conduct of KVS Examination will be available at this website. Applicants must remain in touch with KVS through its website for the important information which KVS will display on its website from time to time.

r)       Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

s)     No Calculator, Cell Phone, Digital Diary, Weapon etc. will be allowed inside the examination hall.

t)      The results of the short-listed candidates for interview will be available on the website. The short-listed candidates will be sent interview letters for appearing at the interview.

u)     Based on the overall performance in the written examination and Interview, appointment letters will be issued by Sangathan.

v)     Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India based on the vacancies available in specific region.

w)    Selected candidates will be entitled to various allowances as admissible in accordance with the KVS Rules.

x)     Selected candidates will initially be on probation for two years, which is extendable by One year, if necessary.

y)     For all practical purposes or in case of any discrepancy in the context of text of the advertisement in Hindi language, the English version of the advertisement will prevail.

z)     The jurisdiction for all legal matters for this recruitment will be New Delhi and legal cases filed (if any) in other courts will not be maintainable.

aa)  A candidate who is or has been declared by the KVS to be guilty of:

(i)         obtaining support for his candidature by the following means, namely:-

(a)        Offering illegal gratification to, or
(b)        Applying pressure on, or
(c)        Blackmailing, or threatening to black mail any person connected with the conduct of the examination, or

(ii)         impersonating, or
(iii)        procuring impersonation by any person, or
(iv)        submitting fabricated documents or documents which have been tampered with, or
(v)        making statements which are incorrect or false or suppressing material information, or
 (vi)       resorting to the following means in connection with his candidature for the examination, namely

a).        Obtaining copy of question paper through improper means,
b).        Finding out the particulars of the persons connected with secret work relating to the examination.
c).        Influencing the examiners, or

(vii)       using unfair means during the examination, or
(viii)      writing obscene matter or drawing obscene sketches in the scripts, or
(ix)        misbehaving in the examination hall including tearing of the scripts, provoking fellow examiners to boycott examination, creating a disorderly scene and the like, or
(x)        harassing or doing bodily harm to the staff employed by the KVS for the conduct of their examinations, or
(xi)        being in possession of or using any mobile phone, paper or any electronic equipment or device or any other equipment capable of being used as a communication device during the examination; or
(xii)       violating any of the instructions issued to candidates along with their Admit Cards permitting them to take the examination.

                                               
13.       GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR BLIND CANDIDATES

            Candidates must write the papers in their own hand.  In no circumstances, they will be allowed the help of scribe to write the answers for them. However, blind candidates will be allowed to write the examination with the help of a scribe.

NOTE 1: The eligibility conditions of a scribe, his/her conduct inside the examination hall and the manner in which and extent to which he/she can help the blind candidate in writing the Examination shall be governed by the instructions issued by the KVS in this regard. Violation of all or any of the said instructions shall entail the cancellation of the candidature of the blind candidate in addition to any other action that the KVS may take against the scribe.

Applications are invited in the prescribed format as enclosed ( on a good quality A-4 size bond paper of 80
GSM using one side only) from eligible Indian Nationals for the following posts of Technicians.
Applications complete in all respects along with required enclosures should be sent by post to the
concerned Railway Recruitment Board as mentioned in para 15 of this notification, so as to reach on or
before 29.11.2010 up to 17.30 Hrs. The applications can also be dropped in the box kept at the premises of
concerned RRB offices, till the closing date. For candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur,
Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti districts and
Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman, Nicobar and Lakshwadeep
islands and for candidates residing abroad, the closing date for receipt of applications by posts will be

1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1.01 Before applying for any post, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfills all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite Educational/Technical qualifications from recognized
University/Institute as on the closing date of submission of the application. Those awaiting results of the final examination need not apply. RRB may reject the applications of candidates at any stage of
recruitment process in case the candidate is not fulfilling the requisite criteria, and if appointed, such candidates are liable to be removed from service summarily.
1.02 The candidates who have been debarred for life from all RRB examinations or the candidates who have been debarred for a specified period which is not yet completed, need not apply in response to this
Employment Notice. Their candidature will be rejected during any stage of recruitment as and when detected.

1.03 Candidates should fill up the application in his/her own handwriting and must sign as well as put their left hand thumb impressions at the prescribed places. Applications should be filled either in
English or in Hindi. Application should be on a good quality A4 size bond paper (80 GSM) using one side only. Newspaper cuttings should not be used as application. The candidates purchasing printed
application from the market should ensure that it conforms to the prescribed format published in the Employment Notice. The candidates can also make photocopy of the application format as given in the
Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and then fill up the details. They can also download the application format from the website of the RRBs. The detailed Centralised Employment Notice has also been
displayed on the notice board in the offices of RRBs. The candidates should send their application sufficiently in advance before the closing date. RRBs will not be responsible for any postal delay/wrong
delivery at any stage of the selection process.
1.04 The candidates are required to sign in English or in Hindi in the prescribed places provided in Application Form and Information Sheet. The signatures on Application Form, Information sheet, Answer
Sheet, Question Booklet and other places should be identical. The signatures must be in running hand and not in block capital or disjointed letters. Signatures at the time of application, written examination
and document verification in different style or language may result in cancellation of candidature.
1.05 (a) Candidates may note that wherever it is mentioned to submit separate application, they should send separate application, postal order/DD and all other necessary enclosures in separate envelope.
(b) Wherever it is prescribed to submit single application for more than one category candidate can apply for more than one post in a single application and their order of preference of posts can be
mentioned in the item no. 1 of application. (c) Candidates should however note that RRBs will hold written examinations for the posts notified in the notification simultaneously on the same day. Candidates
are advised to apply accordingly.
1.06 Candidates submitting more than one application for the same category to the same RRB will be summarily rejected & also debarred from RRB examinations as per para given below..
1.07 Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/High School Examination Certificate or an equivalent Certificate as on the date of submission of applications will only be
accepted by the RRB.
1.08 Serving Defence Personnel likely to be released within one year of the closing date can also apply against Ex-Servicemen vacancies.
1.09 Vacancies of Ex-Servicemen and persons with disability given in the above table are not separate but included in the total number of vacancies.
1.10 The number of vacancies indicated in this Employment Notice is provisional and may increase or decrease or even become nil depending upon the actual needs of the Railway Administration. The
Administration also reserves the right to cancel the notified vacancies at its discretion and such decision will be final and binding on all. In the event of cancellation of notified vacancies, the examination fee
paid by the candidates will not be refunded.
1.11 Dates of all examinations and results are published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and local dailies. These are also given in the website of the concerned Railway Recruitment Boards. Call
letters for written examinations are sent to candidates by post. The candidates whose applications are rejected are also intimated through post along with the cause of rejection. The details of eligible as
well as ineligible candidates for a particular post are also put on the website of the concerned Railway Recruitment Boards at least one week prior to the written examination for that post. RRB will not be
responsible for any postal delay/ wrong delivery of call letters / rejection letters. RRBs do not intimate candidates who are not selected in written examination or any other test.
1.12 Selection by RRB does not confer upon candidates any right of appointment in Railway. The function of the RRB is to recommend names of suitable candidates to the Chief Personnel Officer of the
concerned Zonal Railway / Production Unit who in turn issues the offer of appointment letter subject to the availability of vacancies and candidates being found medically fit and satisfying all eligibility criteria.
1.13 Selected candidates will have to undergo training wherever training is prescribed for the post.
1.14 Emoluments on initial appointment will be minimum pay of the Pay band plus Grade pay plus other allowances admissible at that time. During the training period only stipend will be paid as
applicable. Candidate may have to give security deposit and execute indemnity bond wherever necessary.
1.15 Against the vacancies earmarked for specific community (SC/ST/OBC/PWD), only candidates belonging to that community/group will be considered. For this purpose, SC/ST/OBC candidates should
furnish Caste Certificate from competent authorities as per the formats given at Annexure 3 (for SC/ST candidates) and Annexure 4 (for OBC candidates). Further, in case of OBC candidates, the certificates
should specially indicate that the candidate does not belong to the Persons/Sections (Creamy Layer) mentioned in Col.3 of the Schedule of the Government of India, Department of Personnel and Training
O.M. No.3601 2/22/9-Estt. (SCT) dated 08.09.93 & its subsequent revision through O.M.No.36033/3/2004-Estt. (Res.) dated 09.03.2004. The OBC candidate should enclose self declaration of non-creamy
layer status in the proforma as given in Annexure-5. The candidates who indicate their community as SC or ST or OBC in their application form but do not enclose the caste certificate in the prescribed
format will not be considered as eligible to appear for the examination. PWD candidates must submit Medical Certificate in the prescribed format (Annuxre - 9) The Visually handicapped candidates who
wants to utilise the services of scribe must make the request in prescribed format (Annexure-10) has to submit a declaration with the details of scribe to be engaged for the examination (Annxure - 10)
1.16 Free Second Class Railway Pass as and when admissible will be issued to the candidates belonging to SC/ST communities when they are called for written examination /document verification provided
they submit valid caste certificate.
1.17 Selected male candidates who are finally appointed are liable for active service in Railway Engineer’s Unit of Territorial Army.
1.18 Female candidates are also eligible. However, it may be noted that some categories involve duties which are arduous in nature and call for working in shifts at odd hours, at road side station also away
from headquarters.
1.19 Any subsequent changes in the terms and conditions of this Employment Notice as per extant rules will stand good. RRBs reserve the right to consider/incorporate any subsequent
changes/modifications/additions in the terms & conditions to recruitment under this Employment Notice necessitated and applicable.
1.20 A Candidate shall be free to apply to more than one RRB but he/she will be doing so at his/her own risk as the examination will be held by all RRBs on the same date. Examination for more than one
category/group may also be held simultaneously based on administrative convenience.
1.21 Andaman & Nicobar Islands Candidates : Candidates belonging to Andaman & Nicobar Islands applying for the posts notified by RRB/Kolkata or Chennai may be allotted examination centre at Port
Blair provided sufficient number of eligible candidate apply. Such candidates should enclose a certificate of domicile in Andaman & Nicobar Islands from a competent officer of the Andaman & Nicobar
Islands administration or a certificate from the school/college last attended in Andaman & Nicobar Islands certifying that the candidate had passed his examination from the school/college situated in
Andaman & Nicobar Islands. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not there, exam centre will be allotted as per the administrative convenience of RRB.

2. AGE LIMIT The lower and upper age limit indicated will be reckoned as on 01.01.2011. The upper age limit is relaxable as under subject to submission of requisite certificate.
2.01 By 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
2.02 By 3 years for OBC candidates.
2.03 For Ex-Servicemen, up to the extent of service rendered in defence plus 3 years provided they have put in more than 6 months service after attestation.
2.04 By five years to candidates who have ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989.
2.05 By 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (UR/PWD), 13 years for OBC/PWD and 15 years for SC&ST/PWD.
2.06 For the serving Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ Railway Staff and casual labours/substitutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be up to 45 years for SC/ST candidates and 43 years for OBC candidates,
provided they have put in a minimum of 3 years service (continuous or in broken spells). For those working in Quasi-Administrative offices of the Railway organization such as Railway Canteens, Cooperative
Societies and Institutes, the relaxation in upper age limits will be up to the length of service rendered subject to maximum 5 years.
2.07 Upper age limit in case of widows, divorced women and women judicially separated from the husband but not remarried shall be relaxed up to 38 years for OBC and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.
2.08 (a) The upper age limit in case of course completed Act Apprentices applying for those posts whose minimum qualification is ITI/Course completed Act apprentice shall be relaxed to the extent of
apprentice training undergone by them under the Apprenticeship Act 1961. (b) Upper age limit for the Course Completed Act Apprentice will be 35 years if he/she had commenced Act Apprenticeship under
the Apprenticeship Act before attaining the age of 25 years. In addition the candidates belonging to SC/ST & OBC are eligible for normal relaxation of 5 years and 3 years respectively.
2.09 The date of birth for the candidates for the different age group should be between the dates given below: (Both dates inclusive)

3. EXAMINATION FEE:
3.01 No examination fee for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen /Physically Handicapped /Women/Minorities / Economically Backward classes candidates having annual family income less than Rs. 50,000/-
3.02 For OBC Male candidates (who is not coming within the purview of minority/Economically backward communities) Rs.40/- for Technician Gr.III categories. Candidates should send separate application
for each RRBs.
3.03 The examination fee is non-refundable. It should be paid in the form of a crossed Demand Draft valid for a period of six months to be drawn at the main branch of any of the Nationalized Banks, or in
the form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘Assistant Secretary or Secretary or Member Secretary or Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board' of concerned RRB as mentioned in the para 15
given below. The Bank Drafts/Indian Postal Orders should be payable at the place where the Railway Recruitment Board is situated. The Indian Postal Order/Bank Drafts should not be obtained earlier to the
date of issue of this Employment Notice or after the closing date of receipt of application.
3.04 The candidates should write the Employment Notice No., Name of the post/s applied for, Category Number of the post/s and their name and postal address on the reverse side of the Bank Draft/Front
side at the space provided in the Indian Postal Order.
3.05 Remittance of examination fee in any other form except Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order will not be accepted.
3.06 The particulars of Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order submitted as examination fee should also be indicated at the prescribed place in the application form. (Item No. 5 of information sheet)
3.07 An application not accompanied with Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order of requisite amount, wherever required, towards examination fee, will be summarily rejected.
3.08 Minorities mean Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Zorastrians (Parsis). For claiming waiver of examination fee., Minority candidates should furnish 'self declaration' as mentioned in
annexure-08 along with application form. At the time of document verification such candidates claiming waiver of examination fee will be required to furnish 'minority community declaration' affidavit on
non-judicial stamp paper that he/she belongs to any of the above minority community. If the affidavit is not produced during document verification, the candidature will be rejected.
3.09 Economically backward classes mean the candidates whose annual family income is less than Rs 50,000/-. They have to submit income certificate at the time of applying in the prescribed format as
shown in the annexure -7 and on the letter head of the issuing authority as mentioned in annexure-7

4. HOW TO APPLY
4.01The application format as per Annexure 1 & 2 should be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting, with blue or black ball point pen (not in pencil, fountain pen or gel pen) dated and signed.
Only international numerical i.e. 1,2, 3 etc. should be used. The application form should be filled up in English or in Hindi only, strictly observing all the instructions given in this Employment Notice. The
candidates should affix his/her normal signature in English or in Hindi in the application form. Applications signed in capital letters/spaced out letters will be treated as invalid.
4.02 The candidate's Name, Address with Pin Code, Date of Birth, Father's Name and nearest Railway Station should be written legibly in English in bold capital letters, even if the candidate fills up the application form in Hindi.
4.03 Photographs: One recent (not earlier than three months from the date of application) colour passport size photograph with clear front view of the candidate without cap and sunglasses should be pasted
on the application form in the space provided. Xerox copy of photographs is not permitted. The candidates should sign in the space provided in the box below the photograph. One identical extra colour
passport size photograph should be enclosed with the application, indicating candidate's name and category number on the reverse of the photograph. Candidates may note that the RRB may reject at any
stage for pasting old/unclear photograph on the application or for any significant variations between photograph pasted in the application and the actual physical appearance of the candidate.
4.04 In item No.9 of application form, the candidates should indicate any clear visible marks of identification on their body like a mole on the nose, cut-mark on the forehead in the left side or a scar mark
below the left arm, etc. The application form of the candidate is liable to be rejected if he/she does not indicate clear identification marks or identification mark column not filled up.
4.05 The candidate should copy the paragraph at item No.14 of the information sheet in English/Hindi in their own running handwriting (not in capital/spaced out letters), otherwise their applications will be rejected.
4.06 The candidate should put their Left Hand Thumb impression at the designated places in the Application Form and in the Information Sheet. The Thumb impressions must be clear and complete. Ridges
of the Thumb impressions must be clearly visible.
4.07 Applications which are illegible, incomplete, unsigned, signed in capital letters, not in prescribed format, without photo of candidate, not having IPO/DD or having IPO/DD purchased before date of issue
of and after closing date of Employment Notice are liable to be rejected.
4.08 The envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed "Application for the Post/s of ______________________Category No/s.__________ Employment Notice No._________ &
Community (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-SM)". If the post/s and category number/s is/ are not indicated on the top of the envelope containing application, the same will not be entertained.
4.09 Candidates must apply as per the table given below.
5. ENCLOSURES:
5.01 Application form in the prescribed format (as given in Annexure-1).
5.02 Information sheet in the prescribed format (as given in Annexure-2).
5.03 A valid Indian Postal Order or the Bank Draft for the amount as prescribed in the Employment Notice, wherever required.
5.04 One copy of identical passport size colour photograph firmly stitched to the application (apart from one copy pasted on the form).
5.05 Self Attested copy of Matriculation/High School Examination Certificate or an equivalent Certificate indicating date of birth.
5.06 Self Attested copy of educational and/or professional qualification prescribed for the post being applied.
5.07 Self Attested Photostat copy of caste certificate from competent authority in the case of SC/ST candidates (as given in annexure-3) & OBC candidates (as given in annexure-4). Self declaration from OBC
candidates regarding non-creamy layer status in the proforma as given in Annexure -5.
5.08 Disability Certificate in prescribed format by persons with disabilities (as given in Annexure-9).
5.09 Declaration form by the visually handicapped /those whose writing speed by cerebral palsy candidates and scribe to be engaged for writing the examination (as given in Annexure-10).
5.10 Ex-Servicemen candidates should submit self attested Photostat copy of the discharge certificate. They should also enclose the appropriate certificate issued by the competent authority for the
equivalence of their educational/technical qualifications.
5.11 No Objection Certificate from the competent authority, if already employed in Railways or any Government department / public sector undertakings.
5.12 Self attested Photostat copy of requisite certificates in case of candidates claiming any other type of age relaxation.
5.13 Income certificate on the letter head in the prescribed format as shown in annexure-7 for Economically Backward classes candidates for waiver of the examination fee.
5.14 "Minority self declaration" for waiver of the examination fee for minority community candidates (as given in Annexure-8).
5.15 Self attested photostat copy of valid light/heavy driving license should be enclosed wherever required.
6.INVALID APPLICATIONS: Candidates are requested to read all instructions thoroughly before sending their applications to the RRB. Otherwise, their applications are likely to be rejected on one or more of
the following reasons. In case the application is rejected, the candidate will be intimated by post regarding the reason of rejection.
6.01 Application received after the closing date of Employment Notice.
6.02 Passage not copied in the information sheet (or) copied in capital letters.
6.03 Application without signatures (or) signatures done in capital letters (or) different type of signatures at different places of the application.
6.04 Left hand thumb impression not affixed/blurred/smudged on the application form & information sheet.
6.05 Copies of requisite certificates not enclosed. {(i)Certificate for date of birth i.e. Matriculation/High school exam or equivalent certificate, (ii) Educational and/or professional certificate,(iii) Community Certificate
for SC/ST/OBC, (iv)Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen candidates, (v) Disability certificate for Persons with disabilities, (vi) Income certificate by Economically backward classes candidates for waiver of
examination fee, (vii) 'Minority self declaration' by minority candidates for waiver of examination fee (viii) Declaration to be submitted by visually handicapted candidates who are engaging scribes.
6.06 OBC certificate not in the prescribed format or without self declaration of creamy layer.
6.07 Fee-postal order/DD (wherever applicable) not enclosed or less fee enclosed or invalid IPO/DD i.e. IPO/DD purchased before date of issue of and after closing date of Employment Notice.
6.08 Identification marks column not filled up.
6.09 Do not possess the prescribed qualification for the post on date of application.
6.10 Over aged or under aged or Date of Birth not filled or wrongly filled.
6.11 Double or multiple applications submitted for the same post in same RRB.
6.12 Application without colour photo (or) photo with cap, wearing goggles, disfigured, unrecognizable, or scanned or Xerox copy.
6.13 More than one application in single envelope.
6.14 Candidate's name is figuring in the debarred list.
6.15 Incomplete/illegible application.
6.16 Application not in the prescribed format.
6.17 Category/post not filled up or incorrectly filled
6.18 Application addressed to other RRBs.
6.19 Application filled in a language other than English/Hindi.
6.20 Application received before the date of publication of Employment Notice.
6.21 Any other irregularities which are considered invalid by RRB.
7. RECRUITMENT PROCESS :
The following enclosures as applicable to each individual candidate should be firmly stitched along with the application in the given order:
7.01 The selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of written examination. Short-listed candidates will be called for verification of the original documents according to merit, availability of vacancies
and reservation rules.
7.02 There shall be negative marking in written examinations and marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer @1/3 of the allotted marks for each question.
7.03 The syllabus for the written examination will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The Questions will be of objective type
with multiple answers and likely to include questions pertaining to General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning and Language General Hindi/General English. The question paper will be
in English, Hindi, Urdu and local languages as indicated in para 15 given below and the duration of the examination will be 90 minutes with approximately 100 questions.
7.04 The Railway Recruitment Board, at its discretion may hold additional written test(s) if considered necessary for all or for a limited number of candidates as may be deemed fit by Railway Recruitment Board.
7.05 The date, time and venue of the written examination will be fixed by the RRB and will be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course. Request for postponement of the examination and change of
center/venue will not be entertained under any circumstance.
7.06 Based on the performance of candidates in the written examination, the candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for document verification in the main list. In addition 30% extra
candidates are also called as standby candidates and they are considered for empanelment only if there is shortfall in empanelment from the main list. During document verification, the candidates will have to
produce their original certificates. No additional time will be given and the candidature of the candidates not producing their original certificates on the date of verification is liable to be forfeited.
7.07 The appointment of selected candidates is subject to his/her passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community
certificate and verification of antecedent/character of the candidate.

filling up the following vacancies on regular basis in APSRTC.
The desirous eligible candidates may apply ON-LINE by satisfying themselves

3. METHOD OF SELECTION : Based on objective type written test & Interview.
Weightage marks for (a) Marks in qualifying degree (b) Higher Qualification (c)
Achievement in NCC/Sports. Only those who rank high in the written test would be
called for interview community-wise.
ZONAL/LOCAL CANDIDATURE: The list will be drawn into two parts. The
first part will comprise 30% of the posts consisting of combined merit list of local as well
as non-locals and the remaining second part will comprise the balance 70% of the posts
consisting of locals only and the posts will be filled duly following the rule of
reservation.
4. PERIOD OF TRAINING : One year on a stipend of Rs. 9280/- per month
5. PAY SCALE : Upon successful completion of training the selected candidates will be
appointed as Dy. Superintendent(Traffic)/ Dy. Superintendent (Mechanical) in the time
scale Rs.9280-290-12760-320-15320-340-19400-365-23780 plus usual allowances as
admissible and will be placed on probation.

7. FEE: Each applicant must pay Rs.175/- (Rupees one hundred and seventy five only)
towards Application Fee.
i. Applicants under General category must also pay Rs.200/- (Two hundred
only) towards Examination fee if applying for one post i.e., either TST or
MST (Applicants belonging to SC/ST/BC/ Departmental candidates/Exservicemen
need not pay this fee).
ii. Applications under General category must pay Rs.400/- if applying for both
TST & MST posts towards examination fee.
iii. Candidates belonging to States other than Andhra Pradesh will be considered
in general category only and are required to pay the above prescribed fee.
8. MODE OF PAYMENT OF FEE:
The Applicant should pay the prescribed fee as per the notification in any one of
the A.P. Online centers and obtain Fee paid receipt with Journal Number (12 digit) in the
first instance. Specific Journal number is provided to each individual applicant by the
A.P. Online centres.
9. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION:
After payment of Fee, the candidates has to logon to the website
http://www.apsrtc.gov.in and click on APPLY ONLINE link or directly visit
http://apsrtc.cgg.gov.in to view the detailed notification, User guide and
Application form. The applicants have to invariably fill all the relevant fields in the
Application. Immediately on submission of application the Applicant will get an
acknowledgement in the form of a downloadable PDF document.
